After the launch of number portability in mobile networks on 1st of July 2013, in the timeframe July-December 2013, an average of 4400 mobile numbers were ported monthly, while after the implementation of this service in fixed networks on July 31 2013, in the timeframe August – December 2013, an average of 540 fixed numbers were ported monthly, shows a Report of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) about the development of the number portability service in 2013.
According to the report, in the indicated timeframe, a total of 28 550 numbers were ported, of which 25 885 are mobile numbers and 2 665 - fixed numbers. Most of mobile numbers – 5 907 – were ported in July, when the mobile number portability was launched. In the other months, this indicator varied between 3 290 and 5 503 numbers ported monthly. In fixed networks, the monthly dynamics of ported numbers grew from 227 in August to 760 - in November 2013.
In the opinion of ANRCETI Director, Grigore Varanita, the volume of ported numbers during this short interval demonstrates that number portability is functioning in Moldova and telephone users are well aware of the benefits this service offers. The main point is that as a result of number portability implementation, service users enjoy an enhanced freedom of choice and power of negotiation with the providers, a factor which makes the latter do their best to retain their subscribers and attract new users through more convenient offers, for more favorable rates, emphasized Grigore Varanita.

According the situation on 31.12.2013, all three providers of mobile telephone service registered the following ported numbers:
S.A. „Moldcell”  16 879 numbers ported in, S.A. „Orange Moldova” – 4 619 and S.A. „Moldtelecom” (Unite) – 4 387. 
For fixed telephony, in timeframe August-December 2013, 31 providers received numbers in their own network through ports in.
Most of numbers port in were registered for : „Starnet” S.R.L. – 1 322, S.A. „Orange Moldova” – 1 091, S.A. „Moldtelecom” – 110, „Sun Communications” S.R.L. – 56, „Arax Impex” S.R.L. – 44.
